In school we got a mirror and we were tasked with taking 30 photos with its reflection here is what we took.
Over the half term I had to take 30 photos or more about edges and it basically means that I have to take a picture of something or someone that has an edge and I have to take plenty of photos of different kinds like metal humans wasteland anywhere and anything here are the photos I took in the half term.
WWW: I think we did a lot of great photos and my favourite pictures are the camera in the sky and the camera taking the mirror on the window seal
EBI: To more of the same photos and come up with better ideas to think more abstract about what I am taking and why I am taking it.

We took more photos with not a lot of time here they are.
www: I came up with some good ideas but some of them didn't go so well.
EBI: I want to makes some diiferen things to the pictures e.g photoshopping

one picture photoshopped
We had a assement and we had to take photos with one piece of paper and one camera and light sources and we had to photoshopone of the photos and see how it looked.

First I got the photo up and then I changed the curves as shown.
WWW: I liked the ideas me and my partner made and it turned out well.
EBI: if I can have more shadows than paper with no table In them.
EBI: if I can have more shadows than paper with no table In them.
Yesterday we did some drawing of paper and we had to do it for our GCSE so here is what I drew.
www: I drew something I like and actually good and I shaded properly.
EBI: I need to look at the proportion and the size of the stuff.
EBI: I need to look at the proportion and the size of the stuff.
Today we used staples and we cut paper into to different things here is what we made.
Vjeko Sagar
He is a very different paper artist to others with the fact he dont use a lot of shadow. Plus he has stuff all over the world like in Canada Japan Hungry ect. He has a degree and he went to the university of arts and I like his photos cause they are more simple than others.
Francis Bruguière
This person is more like the others were they focus on the shadows and not the paper he is a interesting with the fact that he is not the most famous one with the fact that he copies most people not there work how they do it.
Both of the artist have a similar idea with cutting the paper, but they have major differences with that Francis uses the darkness and Sagar uses the light and he also has sutler cuts not the deep and folded cuts.
Today I had some card and I cut it up into different things but I decided to go with this one.
WWW: I made something that is unusual to me and I made some interesting photos. With the picture in the slideshow it looks like small scales and big scales, with the pieces of the cutting it looks like it is shedding. With the lighting in some of the photos it looks like something scary.
EBI: I could have added more cuts to the paper and more different angles.
EBI: I could have added more cuts to the paper and more different angles.
I made improvements to my work and I got one picture
assement
The task for the assent was based on edges.
We were tasked with choosing 5 photos out of hundreds and I chose these 5.
I chose these 5 photos because I like nature and all of them have something to with nature, plus nature is a wonderful thing you dont know what can happen with it.
In this task I had to rephotograph the pictures I chose and I did something that is not unusual but different with the fact either I was trying to compare nature or contrasting man kind to nature. I think that nature has unlimited edges so that means it can be taken in so many ways.
WWW: I compared and contrasted the photos to something.
EBI: I could go outside and compare the photos. I could rephotograph them next to nature.
EBI: I could go outside and compare the photos. I could rephotograph them next to nature.
My thought process of my sculpture is that I wanted to contrast man made stuff to nature the tape is the man made stuff and the pictures are nature. sir took a picture of my sculpture at the finish.
After next we had to take photos of open space so we can photoshop my sculpture in the picture making it look like it is real and massive here are the pictures.
Today we had to photoshop it in with the images I took on my phone.
Then had to shape the image properly and ad a shadow this is what I used to angle it properly after I just saved here is the final result.
|
Here Is the final result I like it with the fact that I had to angle the image properly which makes it look a lot better when it looks like that.
WWW: I made the screen grabs and finished the assessment with the photo shopped picture.
EBI: I could of taken more screen grabs and cut out the sculpture a bit better and spent more time on moving the photo into the right into the perfect position . |
all together I have done well on the assessment.
WWW: I feel like I will get a high mark and I have learned a lot about photo shop and sculpting and the assent was fun.
EBI: I could improve on everything with the photoshopping with the fact I could cut it out better and the pictures contrasting the with nature and choosing better locations for my photoshopping.

photograph comparison
In the first photograph the one on the left sick of goodbys by Robert frank is quite dark and dim, it has mirrors. On the mirrors it has writing on saying sick of goodbys, there is also a arm holding a doll.On the second photograph by Lorenzo Vitturi called red 1 it is more vibrant and vivid colours. In the photograph there is fruit all stacked up on top of each other like a tower. Franks image is portrait and I don't know the word but not still life or abstract . Vitturi's image is also portrait and it is still life. Both images are different to each other in many ways with the brick in Vitturi's image. Also two mirrors in the same image, that's a bit surprising.
Now I am going to talk about the similarities in these photos. Both of them are complex/chaotic with everything every where, also the fact that both of the objects are in the middle of the photos. Two more similarities are the images are both mostly in focus with franks image in the background is out of focus. The last one is they have the same shape/format they are both portrait. Now onto some of the differences. franks image has writing on it but vitturi's doesn't. Also the biggest is that franks id dark, black and white and vitturi's in warm in colour.
In the pictures there are a lot of edges in vitturi's image with the tower of fruits. On the other hand though franks image doesn't have have the edges in vitturi's image with all the different angles, it has straight and curved edges, but franks is like up down sideways. Both these images together make you think about how edges can be seen in different ways. If I could talk to Bothe of them I would ask vitturi did you mean to create a contrast between the object and the background? The question I would ask frank is when you took thus photo what were you felling at the time?
If I could name both these images. I would call vitturis "splatter of many kinds". Because there is many different things plus it is complex. I would call franks image "farewell see you soon". The reason why I called ti farewell see you soon is because good byes mean you won't see them again but farewell see you soon means you will see them again, that is why I am calling it that. If I was inside franks image I would feel lonely because I would have nothing to do. Plus I would fell the same if I was in vitturis image. These photographs probably were made from what they were feeling like at the time because that is a big part of everything.

this is my home learning project for making a concertina book.
www: I made a concertina book that folds out to a normal piece of paper but can be used as a book .
ebi: I could of added text to the back explaining why I took these photos.

my perspective of edges
Kurt winner he is a 3d street artist that is from Italy and the USA he makes amazing and impeccable pieces of art and he also has a motto art is how the universe expresses its creativity through human beings. Which I find one of the best mottos I have ever heard of. here is some of his art go to Kurt wenner website he is outstanding.
these are my favourite pictures because you can relate to them even if you watch it and they show edges in a way that people never think you can see it from one angle but not the other with drawings you can look at it at any angle and yet it still looks the same but with these kinds of art you can only see the proper image form one angle and none other.
another artist that does this is Leon keer he does these image for big companies like coca cola and his art is still really good but a little different he bases it on lego and retro games.
Two more artists are Edgar muller and tracy lees tum bot grey artists with tracy using chalk and Edgar basing his on drops and open floor.

Yesterday I went Tate modern it was a very good experience for my with the fact I could see stuff I have never seen before and rooms that can only be seen or take photos with flash. it was also a good experience for my homework and now I can compleate my homework. the pictures for my homework are on my phone. We went to the 4th floor first and stayed there until we needed to go to lunch went into the neon room which was the best then we had lunch after lunch wee went to the top were I took photos for my homework but none for the camera.
my homework
I made this today using the cliping thing where you dupe the layer then you create your shape link them together with holding alt then with the drag tool thing you can distort the image in percuilar ways.
this is my final project for this term
www I am proud that I made something in the time limit and it os abstract.
EBI I wanted to take more interesting photos with different lighting and mess around in photoshop and make it look more interesting.

final evaluation
in this project I have researched artist that doesn't use canvas or paper they use public floor and turn it into 3d art like Kurt winner and Tracey lee stum and they have some of the best 3d art I have ever seen implementing child hood games like pac man into 3d art makes you feel like a child again. I learnt that in edges you can make anything if you think about the edges and how they ca be seen. at first I thought edges in photography was just about taking photos of edges then we learnt to interpret them in many different ways like using mirrors and using man rays technique of using shadows. in this subject of edges we have explored many different ways of edges like man ray with shadows and light and when our teacher let us research our own artist and let us see edges of how we perceive them. some of my best ideas for edges came when we were learning about photoshop and using clipping and collage they are the things that I use to make my best ideas.
